Real Madrid’s Winless Streak Continues Amid Refereeing Woes

Real Madrid extended their winless La Liga run to three games with a 1-1 draw against Osasuna, amid criticism of refereeing decisions. Jude Bellingham was sent off in the 39th minute, sparking controversy over the incident and claims that Carlo Ancelotti was left fuming.

The Italian manager felt the video assistant referee (VAR) failed to intervene in three possible penalties for what he thought were fouls on Vinícius Júnior and Bellingham. Ancelotti also complained about the red card shown to Bellingham, arguing that the English midfielder had not insulted the referee during an argument.

Real Madrid’s winless streak has added to their already intense title race with Atlético Madrid and Barcelona. The visitors top the standings with 51 points, one ahead of second-placed Atlético and three clear of third-placed Barcelona.

The result also highlighted the struggles of other teams in La Liga, including Milan, who secured a narrow 1-0 win over Verona despite having several wasteful chances. Atalanta were held to a 0-0 draw against Cagliari, while Paris Saint-Germain extended their unbeaten run with a 1-0 win at Toulouse.

In Ligue 1, PSG remain unbeaten but Luis Enrique downplayed the significance of going undefeated, stating that winning the league is the true objective. Marseille’s Amine Gouiri scored two goals in a 5-1 rout of Saint-Étienne, while Monaco thrashed Nantes 7-1 with Mika Biereth grabbing another hat-trick.
