Reality TV Star Kirk Medas Dies After Plea for Help

Reality TV star Kirk Medas, who appeared on the MTV show “Floribama Shore,” has died hours after his friends and family pleaded for help to cover his medical expenses. The 33-year-old was diagnosed with severe necrotizing pancreatitis, a condition that causes tissue death due to inflammation of the pancreas. He was hospitalized for two weeks and placed on a ventilator.

Medas’ mother created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his treatment, as he did not have medical insurance. Fellow cast member Nilsa Prowant has been visiting Medas in the hospital, keeping his friends and roommates updated on his condition. The cause of Medas’ illness is unclear, but it’s reported that he was battling the severe case since his hospitalization began.

Medas appeared on “Floribama Shore” for 25 episodes from 2017 to 2020, a reality show inspired by MTV’s hit “Jersey Shore.” His death has sparked an outpouring of support for his family and friends.
