Redefining My iPhone Homescreen for Clarity and Productivity

I recently found myself feeling suffocated by my iPhone’s grid-based homescreen, cluttered with apps that I only used occasionally. The familiar yet oppressive arrangement of icons had become overwhelming. However, the introduction of new features in iOS 18 offers a fresh start.

Prior to these updates, I relied on Android for its flexibility in customizing the homescreen and organizing apps. But Apple’s iOS has traditionally made it challenging to change up the grid layout. The addition of widgets, an app library, and the ability to hide apps from the homescreen marked a turning point in this regard.

I decided to give my homescreen a thorough makeover, reorganizing my apps and widgets to prioritize only those that I regularly use. By doing so, I’ve created a more streamlined and clutter-free space on my iPhone.

One of the key benefits of these new features is the ability to move apps anywhere, change their colors, and access additional functions through the Control Center. Although most people still stick to traditional grid layouts, this newfound flexibility has allowed me to adopt a customized approach that suits my needs.
