RedOctane Games is back, reviving the rhythm gaming scene with a new mission to create more powerful and precise experiences. The company, comprised of creators who helped establish Guitar Hero and DJ Hero nearly two decades ago, aims to reconnect players through innovative controllers, engaging titles, and a thriving community.
Simon Ebejer leads the charge as RedOctane Games’ spearhead, having previously worked on notable titles such as Guitar Hero 3 under Neversoft. The studio has revealed plans for a new title, set to be unveiled later this year.
RedOctane’s origins date back to 1999 when brothers Kai and Charles Huang founded the studio. It published the original Guitar Hero and its PlayStation 2 port before being acquired by Activision in 2006, paving the way for other music games like Guitar Hero Live in 2015. RedOctane Games is now under Fellowship Entertainment’s umbrella, with Charles and Kai returning to serve on a special advisory board.
