Remedy’s FBC: Firebreak – A Co-op Shooter Like No Other

Remedy Entertainment has once again pushed the boundaries of third-person shooters with its new co-op first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak. Set in the Remedy Connected Universe six years after Control, players take on the role of volunteer “first responders” who must fight to survive against a sentient swarm of Post-it notes and their former colleagues possessed by the Hiss.

The game’s trailer, titled “Paper Chase,” showcases three-player teamwork as they clear out sticky note infestations in the Oldest House. Players can use improvised weapons like an electrified pneumatic jump firearm or high-pressure water cannon to blast away obstacles, while also collecting ammo and items to aid in their quest.

FBC: Firebreak’s core pillars prioritize pick-up-and-play potential, eliminating engagement stress from daily check-ins and grinds. The game offers flexible play options through “jobs,” Threat & Clearance Level modifiers, and Crisis Kits that allow players to choose unique play styles.

Remedy director Mike Kayatta emphasized the importance of protecting both existing Control players and new audiences with FBC: Firebreak. Post-launch content will be free for all owners, while cosmetic items can be purchased optionally. Cross-play is also supported, allowing console and PC gamers to play together seamlessly.

With its unique blend of co-op gameplay, creative options, and a dash of Remedy’s signature humor, FBC: Firebreak has the potential to become a standout title in the gaming world. This summer, fans of the studio can look forward to diving into the paranatural chaos of the Remedy Connected Universe once again.
