Three years ago, electricity prices surged due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, stressing America’s grid. To address high consumer prices, the US must increase its electricity generation capacity. However, the proposed bill does the opposite, harming the development of wind and solar energy. This would limit the growth of electric-car charging infrastructure and hinder data-center construction, exacerbating the already strained grid.
