Resale tickets for Monday’s College Football Playoffs Championship game between Ohio State and Notre Dame are highly sought after, with prices reaching a record high. According to data from SeatGeek, the average resale ticket price, including fees, is $3,327, marking a 37% increase from last year’s championship. The get-in price on SeatGeek as of Thursday was $1,817 with fees, similar to StubHub and GameTime.
The game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, is expected to be highly competitive, with Ohio State and Notre Dame boasting two of the most passionate fan bases in college football. Sales on SeatGeek are tracking 85% higher than last year at the same time, surpassing final sales of all championship games from 2019 to 2023.
The top five states with the highest percentage of fans buying resale tickets were Ohio (17%), Texas (9%), Florida (7%), Georgia (6%), and Illinois (6%). Front-row seats are selling for around $14,000, including fees, making it one of the most expensive tickets available.
Ohio State finished the regular season with a 7-2 conference record, while Notre Dame was 11-1 heading into the tournament. The Buckeyes haven’t won the championship since 2014, while the Fighting Irish last took the title in 1988. The game is expected to be closely contested, with Ohio State favored by 8.5 points over Notre Dame.
