Rumors confirmed, the Rivian Commercial Van is now available to order for fleets of any size, including single vans. However, it’s only open to businesses and not individuals. The announcement comes after a four-year exclusivity period with Amazon, which has already received around 20,000 vans.
To expand its reach, Rivian has introduced a fleet sales program that allows orders from smaller fleets or even individual businesses. The RCV comes in two models: the RCV 500 and the RCV 700, with varying cargo space and prices ranging from $79,900 to $83,900.
Fleet owners can expect a range of specifications, including estimated ranges of up to 161 miles for the RCV 500 and 153 miles for the RCV 700. The vans will have front-wheel drive drivetrain and varying payload capacities.
Notably, Rivian emphasizes that these vehicles are still intended for business use only, requiring registration with a company name. However, this doesn’t preclude personal electric vehicle owners from considering upfitting options to make their van suitable for business use.
Orders for the commercial van will start taking place this month, with deliveries set to begin in April. Fleet owners interested in purchasing the RCV can reach out to Rivian’s fleet sales team for more information.
