Robert De Niro stars as two infamous organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, in his latest film “The Alto Knights”. The movie was shot entirely on location in Cincinnati, with over 50 locations used throughout the city.
According to Kristen Schlotman, Film Cincinnati President & CEO, this production brings significant exposure to the area and supports local actors and crew members. More than 500 locals were involved in the film, including first-timers like Dave Gottschlich and Lou Rivera.
Gottschlich, Rivera, and Jerome Agean all appeared as mobsters in the movie. Rivera described what audiences can expect from “The Alto Knights”, stating that it showcases the inner workings of organized crime and power struggles.
The film will be released nationwide on Friday, offering a unique glimpse into Cincinnati’s history through its portrayal of familiar locations such as Eden Park and Little Italy.
