Warner Bros. Discovery confirms that filming for ‘The Batman: Part II’, starring Robert Pattinson, will begin in the spring of 2026. The sequel is set to be released on October 1, 2027. Director Matt Reeves wrote and directed the first film, which grossed over $770 million worldwide.
James Gunn, who has taken over as head of DC Studios, has defended the delayed release of the film, stating that writers need time to complete their work. Gunn, who is also set to write and produce ‘Superman’, believes fans should respect Reeves’ creative process.
Robert Pattinson expressed concerns about his age playing Batman for two films. He will star alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman in the sequel. Other cast members include Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, John Turturro, and Andy Serkis.
Gunn’s ‘Superman’ remake has performed well at the box office, earning over $500 million worldwide since its release in July. Gunn is working on a follow-up to the film, but its details are unclear.
DC Studios has announced several upcoming projects, including ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Clayface’, which will be released in 2026.
