After leaving Whitesnake following their self-titled album release in 1987, Sykes joined Blue Murder and later returned to Thin Lizzy in 1996. Although not as widely recognized as some of his contemporaries, such as Eddie Van Halen or Zakk Wylde, Sykes’ musical contributions to the genre are significant.
