A woman who is married to the bassist of the rock band Weezer was arrested in Los Angeles after pointing a gun at police officers during an unrelated manhunt. Jillian Lauren Shriner, 51, was charged with attempted murder and refused to drop her handgun despite multiple requests from authorities. The officers shot her when she pointed the gun at them. Shriner suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken into custody.
The incident occurred on Tuesday in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles as police pursued suspects in a hit-and-run case. Shriner was found with a 9-millimeter handgun at her home, which was later confirmed to be hers. She has written two best-selling memoirs and is scheduled to perform with her husband at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Saturday.
