Rockstar Games has announced the acquisition of Sydney-based developer Video Games Deluxe. The team, which worked on upgrades for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and previously collaborated with Rockstar on re-releases of L.A. Noire, will be renamed Rockstar Australia.
The news was welcomed by Jennifer Kolbe, Head of Publishing at Rockstar Games, who praised the team’s past work, including their creation of the critically acclaimed detective thriller L.A. Noire. Video Games Deluxe founder Brendan McNamara also expressed his enthusiasm for joining forces with Rockstar, emphasizing the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality games.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone in the partnership between Rockstar and Video Games Deluxe, which began over a decade ago. The new agreement will see Rockstar Australia working closely with Rockstar on future projects, including Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series.
