Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released in fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The announcement, made during the company’s financial earnings report on Thursday, comes as no surprise, given that Rockstar had previously announced a similar release window.
The developer is known for delaying its biggest titles to ensure polish, as seen with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5. However, GTA 6 will stick to its current release date despite some speculation about potential delays.
Rockstar first announced the game in 2022, following the success of its predecessor, which has sold over 200 million copies since its release in 2013. The company has been relatively quiet on the project’s progress since then, leading to concerns among fans.
GTA 6 takes the series back to Vice City, with dual protagonists Jason and Lucia seeking a better life through heists and hijinks in a modern-day context. Fans can look forward to the game’s release this fall, which promises to deliver on high expectations for the long-awaited title.
