Rockstar Games has released a new update for the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition games, bringing improved lighting effects and gameplay enhancements to current-gen consoles and PC versions. The update restores more of the original game’s elements, including accurate street lighting and enhanced fire and glass-breaking effects.
The patch also addresses long-standing issues with in-game rain, which has now received a visual upgrade. These changes were previously made to mobile versions of the games through a partnership with Video Games Deluxe.
While some console and PC gamers may have missed out on these updates due to previous launch issues, the Definitive Edition trilogy is available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Additionally, Rockstar Games is currently working on Grand Theft Auto 6, which is set to release in fall 2025.
