Rodgers, Jets Eliminated from Playoff Hunt After Loss to Dolphins

The NFL playoff picture has taken a significant hit with several teams eliminated from postseason contention. The New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers were officially out of the playoff hunt after their 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

The Jets’ fourth straight defeat dropped them to 3-10 on the season, tying them for last in the AFC East standings. This marks the 14th consecutive season they’ve missed the playoffs, with their last appearance coming in 2010.

Rodgers and the Jets were long shots to make the playoffs entering Sunday’s game but have struggled to find success since a September victory over the Patriots. Their head coach, Robert Saleh, and general manager, Joe Douglas, were fired after that loss.

The Dolphins improved their chances with a win, moving to 6-7 on the season. They’re now in a battle for one of the last wild-card spots in the AFC and would secure their third straight postseason appearance if they succeed.

Other teams have also been eliminated from playoff contention, including the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns. The Jacksonville Jaguars stunned the Titans with a 10-6 win, while the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Browns 27-14.
