A pair of rogue European brown bears, Mish and Lucy, escaped from their enclosure in Devon due to an unlocked gate. The dynamic duo caused a “sugar rush” after consuming a week’s worth of honey from the keepers’ store, leading to a safety review to ensure the incident doesn’t happen again. Thanks to generous donations, including a 15kg tub, the bears are now well-stocked on their favorite food. The Wildwood Trust charity said it was great to see the local community rally around and offer support for the bears, which have become a popular attraction since the incident captured national attention.
