Roman Dolidze Calls Out Whittaker and Adesanya After Dominant Win

UFC middleweight Roman Dolidze earned the biggest win of his career with a unanimous decision victory over Marvin Vettori in the main event of UFC Fight Night inside the Apex facility in Las Vegas. The 15-3 contender dominated the five-round fight, outlanding Vettori 134-105 and earning scores of 49-46 from all three judges.

Dolidze’s performance was a significant turnaround from their first meeting two years ago, when Vettori outlanded him 106-71 in just three rounds. On Saturday, Dolidze showed improved control and composure, hurt Vettori with a knee in the fourth round, and stood his ground in the fifth round.

The victory marked a major setback for Vettori, who had not fought since June 2023 due to a shoulder injury and was struggling to regain form. Dolidze, on the other hand, improved to 7-2 in his past nine fights and jumped up the UFC’s middleweight rankings to No. 12.

Dolidze immediately called for a top-five fight, citing Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya as potential opponents. The Georgian contender credited his mental preparation for the win, saying he needed to show he could go five hard rounds to earn a ranked fight. With Dricus Du Plessis expected to defend his title against Khamzat Chimaev next, Dolidze’s callout is likely to be taken seriously by the UFC.
