Rosie O’Donnell has criticized comedian Jay Leno over his treatment of former “Biggest Loser” contestant Tracey Yukich, who appeared in a new docuseries about the show.
O’Donnell shared her thoughts on Instagram after watching the Netflix documentary “Fit for TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser”. She posted photos of Yukich during her time on the show and called out Leno, saying he was a “mean a——”.
Yukich recalled an incident where she appeared on Leno’s late-night show and he read her death threats. She also shared that she nearly died during a challenge in 2009 after overexerting herself.
Leno denied any wrongdoing, stating he would stand behind his actions and never put anyone in harm’s way. However, O’Donnell criticized fellow “Biggest Loser” trainer Bob Harper for not apologizing properly.
The docuseries sheds light on the dark side of “The Biggest Loser”, a show that forced contestants to lose weight to stay in the competition. The show aired from 2004 to 2016 and is now streaming on Netflix.
