RSV Cases Surge Nationwide Amid Back-to-School Season

RSV cases are on the rise across the US, with hospitals like Memorial Health reporting a high number of patients. Currently, there are 11 hospitalizations due to RSV, surpassing numbers for COVID-19 and influenza.

To cope with this increase, doctors advise being prepared for all three viruses, especially as families return to their routine. Dr. Timothy Connelly emphasizes the importance of early detection by having tests on hand.

As temperatures cool, Dr. Connelly predicts more RSV cases will emerge due to increased indoor contact. Proper hygiene, such as frequent handwashing, is crucial in preventing transmission. The doctor also recommends getting vaccinated against RSV if you haven’t already done so.
