Jagex has announced RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a cooperative open world survival game set in the new continent of Ashenfall within the RuneScape universe. Players can team up with one to four others to learn new skills, build camps, and survive against powerful enemies, including dragons.
Ashenfall features two regions with five unique biomes and potential for additional content post-launch. The world will be familiar to RuneScape fans, with locations like a wizard’s tower and castle making appearances. However, the creatures have been transformed by wild magic into strange, nature-fied versions of themselves.
Survival in Dragonwilds revolves around developing skills, including classic RuneScape activities like cooking and woodcutting. These skills allow players to interact with the world in various ways, such as using wind runes for gliding or throwing a spectral axe to chop down trees quickly.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds will enter early access on PC this spring, with a wider launch planned for 2026, including console releases. A deep-dive reveal of the game is scheduled for April 15 on Twitch at 9:00 AM PT.
