Russia has detained a suspect accused of killing a senior Russian general in a car bomb attack outside Moscow’s suburbs. Ignat Kuzin, a Ukrainian special services agent, is believed to have planted explosives in a Volkswagen Golf to kill Gen Yaroslav Moskalik. The FSB secret service says the bomb was set off remotely from Ukraine and that Kuzin had been recruited by Ukraine in 2023. A video released by the FSB shows Kuzin giving an apparent confession, as well as footage of his arrest and the bomb’s components. Russia has blamed Ukraine for the attack, with the Kremlin stating Kyiv is involved in “terrorist activities” within its borders.
