Russia Occupies Two Settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian forces have occupied two settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Zaporizke and Novoheorhiivka. According to intelligence from NATO member states, there is no plan for a major Russian offensive in the area.

The settlements’ locations make them critical border points between Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Ukraine’s General Staff has denied claims that Russia has entered Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, while Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Defence Intelligence, stated that Russian threats to the city of Dnipro are primarily from missile and drone attacks.

Recent developments suggest that Russian forces have made significant gains in the area. On July 5, DeepState reported that Russian troops captured Zelenyi Kut and Novoukrainka near the border with Donetsk Oblast. The situation has since escalated, with reports of intensified push on the Dobropillia front by Russian troops.

Ukraine’s military remains vigilant, particularly along the contours of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Intelligence suggests that Russian forces are infiltrating small groups past the first line of Ukrainian positions in the area.
