Russia has rejected US President Donald Trump’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, instead expressing readiness to negotiate a long-lasting peace agreement. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that a ceasefire would only serve as a means for Ukraine to bolster its military capabilities. Instead, Russia is seeking conclusive and legally-binding agreements that guarantee the security of the Russian Federation and its neighboring countries’ legitimate interests.
