Russia claims to have shot down 10 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow, according to city’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The drone attacks led to a short-lived fire at an Azot chemical plant in the Tula region and injured two people.
At least one person was killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk industrial region, which was hit by drones, artillery, and rocket launchers. The incident marked the first time Russia has pushed into the region during its three-year-old offensive.
The Ukrainian drone attack comes as negotiations in Istanbul failed to broker an end to the war. Moscow accused Kyiv of delaying a large-scale prisoner exchange, while Ukraine said Russia was playing “dirty games” by not sticking to agreed parameters for the swap.
Meanwhile, Russian forces hit villages in southern regions of Zaporizhia and Kherson, injuring two civilians. The conflict has resulted in significant damage to Ukraine’s economy and military capabilities.
The situation remains volatile as both sides exchange accusations and continue their operations.
