Russia has suspended the flow of natural gas to Europe after Ukraine declined to renew a deal allowing Russian gas to transit its territory, ending 60 years of energy supply. The decision comes as tensions between Moscow and Kiev remain high over the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Ukraine had previously agreed to let Russia use its territory to transport gas to European markets, but now says it will no longer do so.
