A Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv has killed one man inside his home and wounded at least 112 others, including nine children. The attack damaged 21 apartment buildings, two schools, and a factory, causing widespread destruction.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy condemned the attack, calling it “a terror machine” that will only stop with strong confrontation. He also confirmed that advanced Iskander missiles were used in the attack.
Russia has reduced its strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities but is targeting civilian infrastructure instead. This follows a U.S.-brokered moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure, which both sides have accused each other of violating since being agreed upon last month.
Another drone attack on Ukraine’s Sumy city killed one person and injured another at a factory, highlighting the ongoing escalation in hostilities.
