AMD’s upcoming RX 9070 series has reportedly leaked, revealing key specs for the flagship model, the RX 9070 XT. According to sources, the GPU will feature up to 4,096 Stream Processors (SPs), 64 Compute Units, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory with a 20Gbps speed. The base clock speed is listed at 2.40GHz, while the boost clock reaches 2.97GHz.
The leak also suggests that the RX 9070 XT will support PCIe 5.0, which is similar to Nvidia’s Blackwell series. However, it appears that AMD has downgraded its memory configuration compared to previous models, with a slower GDDR6 memory speed of 20Gbps.
While the specs are impressive, they seem modest compared to previous generations, particularly when compared to Nvidia’s latest offerings. The RX 9070 XT is rumored to have a lower TGP (Total Graphics Power) than its predecessor, possibly below 200W.
It’s worth noting that AMD has promised more details about the RX 9070 series later this quarter and may be waiting to gauge how well Blackwell performs before announcing pricing and release dates.
