Ryan Murphy’s latest anthology series for FX is set to tell the tragic love story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and his fashion publicist wife, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. The series will star Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn and Paul Kelly as JFK Jr.
The show will follow the couple’s romance, which began in 1992 when they met at a Calvin Klein fitting. Their love story ended abruptly with their deaths in a plane crash in 1999.
Murphy has already begun production on the series, with filming taking place in New York City. He also congratulated Pidgeon and Kelly on their roles, saying he will donate profits from the show to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
The first installment of “Love Story” is set to be released in February 2026. The series will be followed by Murphy’s other FX anthologies, including “American Crime Story,” “American Sports Story,” and “American Horror Story.”
Murphy has taken steps to ensure that the show accurately represents Bessette’s style, with a team of stylists on hand to recreate her iconic looks. However, some fans have expressed disappointment with Pidgeon’s portrayal, particularly in regards to her hair color and fashion choices.
The Kennedys’ love story has captivated the public for decades, and this series promises to be an intimate and emotional exploration of their tragic romance.
