Ryan Seacrest will host his 20th “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” event on Tuesday night, marking the second year he shares hosting duties with Rita Ora. The ABC special kicks off at 8 p.m. and will also stream on Hulu.
Over two decades of hosting the show, Seacrest has accumulated memorable moments both positive and negative. When asked about his favorite moment, he shared that his first solo hosting gig after Dick Clark’s passing was a highlight, despite feeling immense pressure. He attributes his success to adapting and enjoying the experience.
Seacrest also reflected on a less-than-stellar moment when he gave away his communications device due to having it attached to his coat while rehearsing. However, such experiences are rare, and Seacrest is grateful for the opportunity to continue hosting the show.
Ora’s involvement in the event marks her second year as co-host. She expressed enthusiasm for live television, citing its energy and adrenaline rush. As part of this year’s lineup, Ora will perform immediately after the ball drop, a moment she finds magical.
The show features an impressive lineup, including Carrie Underwood, Megan Moroney, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, TLC, and the Jonas Brothers. Seacrest plans to continue perfecting his hosting duties on “Wheel of Fortune” alongside Vanna White.
In her downtime, Ora is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of “Voltron,” which may potentially lead to future collaborations with Seacrest.
