Sabalenka Advances to Miami Open Final

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has reached her second consecutive WTA final after defeating Jasmine Paolini in straight sets at the Miami Open. The 26-year-old Belarusian overcame a strong start from her opponent, dominating Paolini with powerful serves and punishing groundstrokes. Sabalenka’s impressive performance marked her first appearance in the Miami final.

In contrast, American Jessica Pegula edged out teenage sensation Alexandra Eala in the semi-finals. Despite reaching new heights in Miami, Eala ultimately fell short against Pegula. The 19-year-old Filipino had made history by becoming the lowest-ranked player to reach the semi-finals. She will now break into the world’s top 100 for the first time next week.

Sabalenka has expressed her excitement about advancing to the final, saying she is “super happy” and looking forward to holding a trophy. Her opponent Pegula, on the other hand, vowed to keep up her winning streak and break into the top spot.
