Sabrocitos Hondureños Recalls 32,000 Pounds of Meat Products

A US-based company, Sabrocitos Hondureños, has issued a massive recall of its meat products due to mislabeling with a false USDA inspection mark. The recalled items include chorizo (sausage), pork chops, and ribs, weighing around 32,000 pounds, and were shipped nationwide.

The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service reported the issue after finding products bearing the incorrect label “Est. 1785” during routine surveillance. Consumers are advised to discard or return these products, as they may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or contaminants that put consumers at risk.

Products to be discarded include:

– Homestyle chorizo
– Smoked pork chops
– Smoked chorizo
– Cased homestyle chorizo
– Smoked BBQ spicy chorizo
– Smoked ribs

Consumers can contact the owner, Diego Funez Garrido, at 908-274-4206 for more information. For details on recalls and food-safety questions, they can call the USDA meat and poultry hotline (888-674-6854) or visit their website.
