A strike by Safeway employees in Colorado could begin as early as this weekend, according to UFCW Local 7. The union, representing workers across the state, claims unfair labor practices and an “understaffing crisis” are driving the potential walkout. A 72-hour notice was given to Safeway on June 14, with strikes possibly starting Sunday morning. The move follows a cancellation of the Extension Agreement between UFCW Local 7 and Safeway/Albertsons on January 22, 2025.
