Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Bandra residence on Thursday morning. The suspect, who has been detained by the Mumbai Police, is believed to have used a knife and wooden stick during the attack.
The police have taken possession of a portion of the blade extracted from Saif’s back and are still searching for the remaining part. The accused was last seen near Bandra railway station and is believed to be heading towards Vasai Virar.
Mumbai Police has formed 20 teams to track down and nab the intruder, with assistance from informers and technical data collected during the investigation. Forensic teams and dog squads have been used to collect evidence from Khan’s home and the building.
Saif Ali Khan, 54, received six stab injuries in the attack, including one on his neck. He is currently out of danger following an emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital.
CCTV footage has been released showing the intruder fleeing the scene with a wooden stick and long hacksaw blade. The suspect’s face is clearly visible, wearing a brown T-shirt and red scarf.
The incident also affected the actor’s family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor and their two sons. A domestic help was also injured in the attack.
