New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr has confirmed his shoulder injury, saying he and the team have been in communication about it. Carr made the statement during a guest sermon at Church LV in Las Vegas over the weekend, criticizing ESPN and media outlets for speculating about the nature of his injury.
Carr stated that he had an MRI report to prove the diagnosis, and that the team knows about it. He expressed frustration with the speculation, saying “there’s nothing wrong” and that they are working to figure it out. Carr also revealed that he and his wife Heather had planned a trip to New Orleans earlier in the offseason, but she had a miscarriage instead.
The news comes just days after the Saints drafted quarterback Tyler Shough with their second-round pick. General manager Mickey Loomis stated that there will be competition for the starting role, but refused to say whether it would be against a healthy Carr.
