Salma Hayek and Billionaire Husband Attend Notre Dame Reopening

Salma Hayek and her billionaire husband François-Henri Pinault attended the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Saturday. The ceremony marked the 850-year-old church’s return to its former glory, five years after a fire ravaged its iconic spire.

The couple joined an impressive list of international figures, including President-elect Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In 2019, Pinault’s family company Kering pledged $113 million to help rebuild the cathedral, along with other major donors such as LVMH Group and L’Oreal.

Pinault, who co-founded the luxury brand Gucci, has an estimated net worth of $7 billion. The Pinault family also contributed $565 million towards the restoration efforts. In a statement on social media, Hayek praised her husband’s philanthropic efforts, saying she feels “honored and standing in awe” at the cathedral’s reopening.

Hayek and Pinault’s attendance at the ceremony came after she had previously spoken about the pressure to make money despite being part of a wealthy family. However, she expressed pride in her husband’s generosity and commitment to the project.
