Salman Rushdie Trial Continues with Tense Witness Testimony

Salman Rushdie’s high-profile trial has entered its second day, with a dramatic witness testimony that shed new light on the attack. Jordan Steves, the second witness to testify, described how he rushed onto the stage to tackle the attacker, revealing that Salman Rushdie was seriously injured with “a lot of blood”. The witness also confirmed that the suspect in the courtroom was the same individual who stabbed Rushdie.

Steves was then cross-examined by the defence team before being dismissed. The presiding judge ordered a reconvening on Tuesday morning for further witness testimony, bringing an end to day one of the hearing.

While Salman Rushdie himself is expected to testify, his scheduled appearance remains uncertain. For now, live coverage has been paused. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story in our main news section.
