Samsung Electronics Unveils Micro RGB TV to Challenge Chinese Rivals

Samsung Electronics has launched its new Micro RGB TV, aiming to expand its dominance in the global TV market. The company’s strategy involves differentiating itself from Chinese competitors in both low-priced and premium TV segments.

The Micro RGB TV boasts advanced technologies that set it apart from LCD TVs. It uses microLED chips to emit light, reducing size to under 100 μm and enabling better color expression than mini LEDs. This results in a 100% area ratio in BT2020, an indicator of color accuracy.

Additionally, the Micro RGB TV features “glare-free” technology certified by UL to block glare and ensure clear content viewing during the day. Samsung Electronics’ video display business is confident that its new TV will solidify its market leadership through ultra-gap technology strategies.

Key highlights of the Micro RGB TV include:

* AI-powered voice assistant “Bixby”
* “Click-to-search” function for content-related queries
* Improved color expression and brightness

LG Electronics, a major competitor in the OLED TV market, is also exploring opportunities to introduce RGB TVs. The company plans to strengthen its leadership in the global premium TV market through dual-track strategies involving OLED TVs and QNED TVs.

Despite this strategy, the global TV market continues to face challenges, including shrinking demand. Nevertheless, Samsung Electronics’ new Micro RGB TV offers a promising solution for the company to reclaim its position as a leader in the industry.
