Samsung has started rolling out its latest custom Android skin, One UI 8, to select Galaxy S25 series devices through the beta program. However, it will take some time for older devices like the Galaxy A55 to receive this feature.
One of the eligible devices is the Samsung Galaxy A55, which was recently spotted on Geekbench running Android 16. This suggests that Samsung has started working on One UI 8 for the Exynos 1480-powered smartphone. Although no official release date has been announced, it’s expected that the stable build will be released before 2026.
Currently, users of the Galaxy A55 are using One UI 7 based on Android 15 until the new beta program opens in the near future. The phone is available for purchase in various storage options, including 128GB and 256GB configurations.
The update promises to bring improvements like faster animation and battery life, making the device feel more fluid and responsive. However, Samsung has not yet solved the green line screen issue that appeared after some updates.
