Samsung Galaxy Devices Get Long-Awaited Google Play Update

A new update has arrived for many Samsung Galaxy devices, bringing a system upgrade from Google. The update was previously unavailable for Galaxy phones due to issues with One UI 8, but it appears that the problem has been resolved. The patch is rolling out on stable One UI 8 devices and is expected to improve Android builds. Users are reporting the same prompt on their devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The update is widely available and can be downloaded from the Galaxy settings under security updates. It’s estimated to be around 90mb in size. Some users on beta builds have not received an update yet, but it’s unclear why this may be the case. The patch was released on January 1, which is a security upgrade previously rolled out for Pixel devices.

This update brings Google Play system changes to Samsung Galaxy S devices and foldables, offering vital improvements to Android builds.
