Samsung Galaxy S Series Gets Delayed Android 15 Update

Samsung has confirmed that it will be releasing One UI 7, a new operating system for its Galaxy S series phones, but there’s some bad news for those who upgraded to the latest flagships recently. The update won’t come pre-installed on the new S25 models instead, which are expected to launch with Android 15.

According to Samsung, existing devices will receive One UI 7 in the first quarter of this year, after receiving a second January update. This means that owners of older devices might not get the update until late February or early March. The delay is reportedly due to Samsung refining its firmware, which isn’t yet ready for public deployment.

The Android 15 update brings significant security and privacy enhancements, including live threat detection and network defense features similar to those found on iPhones. Samsung’s Knox architecture also improves upon Apple’s walled device garden approach, making it a compelling option for users concerned about security.

When can we expect the latest update? The exact date is still unknown due to Samsung’s lack of confirmation.
