Samsung’s new device line, the Galaxy S25 Edge, could make its debut earlier than expected. According to tech reporter Max Jambor, the device will likely be released in April, May, or June, as it is unlikely that Samsung will launch a new phone close to the release of the Galaxy S26 and next-generation foldable phones.
A spring release would allow the device to gain momentum before other Samsung phones take center stage. Additionally, the timing coincides with Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 4 and Google’s possible Pixel 9a release in May.
The GSMA IMEI database suggests a May launch date for the Galaxy S25 Edge, as devices are typically added six months prior to their release. The device is expected to be mid-range and affordable, competing with the new iPhone SE and Pixel 9a.
However, the dual-camera setup instead of the expected three camera sensors on the Galaxy S25 could indicate that the phone is not intended for the main Galaxy S line. Instead, it may replace a model in the existing lineup, as Samsung has done before with their Edge series. The new device line could be a sign of Samsung’s plans to slim down their main Galaxy S line for future releases.
