ZDNET Recommends the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, a slim phone packed with flagship specifications. Weighing 163 grams and featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED display at QHD+ resolution, it redefines compact phones in 2025.
The closest rival, the iPhone 16 Plus, weighs significantly more, while smaller phones like the Google Pixel 9 and iPhone 16 weigh less. The Galaxy S25 Edge offers a big screen without the added weight, making it ideal for streaming content and scrolling through feeds.
However, there are limitations. The phone packs a small battery (3,900mAh) and has fewer camera sensors than other Galaxy S25 models. Despite these shortfalls, Samsung’s innovative design addresses consumer appetite for bigger screens in thinner devices.
Industry data suggests consumers prefer big-screen phones, which may be one reason Apple’s iPhone Mini lineup was short-lived. The Galaxy S25 Edge fixes this concern with its large display and compact body.
While it has limitations, we believe the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is here to stay. With advancements in battery technology and camera capabilities, thin phones will continue to evolve. We’re excited to use the Galaxy S25 Edge as our daily driver and hope the battery holds up for at least a whole work day.
