Samsung Galaxy S25 Gets Latest Security Update, Paves Way for One UI 8

Samsung has released the June security update to the Galaxy S25 series, which includes a new bootloader version 4 that boosts firmware compatibility with upcoming updates. The update is currently rolling out in Korea and will be expanded to other regions soon.

This latest update is significant as it marks a turning point for the Galaxy S25, locking it into software compatibility with Samsung’s next-gen One UI 8. Although the update doesn’t include any new features of One UI 8 itself, its introduction suggests that the release of One UI 8 – based on Android 16 – is getting closer.

Samsung has been rumored to launch One UI 8 in July, likely coinciding with the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The company’s internal testing models of One UI 8 have already been spotted, making the Galaxy S25 series one step ahead in terms of software readiness.
