Samsung is rumored to increase the price of its upcoming Galaxy S25 series in South Korea due to higher exchange rates and increased chip costs from Qualcomm. The price increase, which is expected to be “slightly” higher than the current S24 model, has been reported by industry sources.
The use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a more powerful chip that offers improved performance and efficiency, is also believed to contribute to the potential price hike. Furthermore, Samsung is reportedly increasing its technology prices by around 30% compared to previous generations, which could impact the S25 series pricing.
However, not all regions are expected to be affected equally. A recent report from WinFuture claims that the Galaxy S25 pricing will remain the same in Europe, with leaked prices indicating the base models would cost around €899 (~$943), €1,149 (~$1,205), and €1,449 (~$1,520) for the respective models.
It’s worth noting that these prices are not final and may change when Samsung officially releases its Galaxy S25 series in January 2024. The company has confirmed that it will debut its new flagships during this event, which is expected to feature improved performance, efficiency, and possibly even Qi2 wireless charging.
