Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Key Upgrades and Improvements

Samsung is expected to release its latest high-end flagship phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, in mid-January 2025. The new device is likely to build upon the success of the current generation, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, with significant upgrades in design, performance, and camera capabilities.

Design-wise, the S25 Ultra may adopt a rounded frame similar to its rivals, such as the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and iPhone 16 series. This could bring about an improved user experience and potentially make it more comfortable to hold.

Performance is expected to be boosted with the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which promises major gains in processing, graphics, and efficiency compared to its predecessor. Higher-end models may also come equipped with 16GB of RAM, further enhancing performance.

The camera system on the S25 Ultra is anticipated to include a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide camera, 50MP periscope camera with 5x zoom, and 10MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom. The upgrade in the ultrawide camera from 12MP to 50MP could significantly enhance mobile photography capabilities.

Additional features may include access to One UI 7 Android wrapper and improved AI-powered tools through the Galaxy AI suite. However, it’s unclear whether these advanced features will be available on all variants of the S25 Ultra or only in pricier models.

While there have been rumors about the possibility of the S25 Ultra launching as the “Note” series instead, it is unlikely that this will happen given the popularity of the standard Note series.
