Samsung Galaxy Watch Gets AI-Powered Health Features

Samsung is giving users of its Galaxy Watch series some exciting updates before the official launch of new smartwatches. The Korean tech giant has rolled out four new features, including a running coach, bedtime guidance, vascular load monitoring, and antioxidant index tracking.

A key feature for runners, Samsung’s AI-powered Running Coach uses fitness data to provide personalized training programs and motivation. It can analyze a user’s pace and performance during long runs outside the watch, providing a score from one to ten and recommending a customized training plan.

The new Bedtime Guidance feature analyzes past three days of sleep to suggest an optimal bedtime schedule based on “need for sleep pressure” and circadian rhythm. This is particularly useful for those with irregular sleep patterns.

Vascular Load monitoring tracks a user’s heart rate throughout the night, providing insights that can encourage healthier habits and lifestyle changes. Samsung aims to promote cardiovascular health by reducing stress-related heart rates during sleep.

Finally, the Antioxidant Index feature measures carotenoids found in green and orange fruits and vegetables, which are believed to promote healthy aging. By placing their finger on the watch’s BioActive sensor, users can get an antioxidant index reading within five seconds.

These features can be accessed by users with Galaxy Watch5 series or later through Samsung’s beta program, although some reported limitations apply to older models.
