Samsung has unveiled the first set of CADs for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, revealing several significant changes over its predecessors. The new phone will boast a thinner design, measuring just 4.5mm when unfolded and 9.5mm when folded.
Compared to previous models, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is only about 1.1mm thinner and still lacks being the thinnest book-style foldable on the market. However, it does offer a larger display – both internally with an 8.2-inch screen and externally with a 6.5-inch display.
The device’s dimensions are approximately 158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm, making its front display wider than last year’s model. While the aspect ratio is unknown, it appears to be around 11mm wider when unfolded compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will power the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor and a 4400mAh capacity battery, similar to its predecessor. Although some regions might receive the Exynos 2500 processor instead, this is considered unlikely due to Samsung’s customization with Qualcomm.
The device’s camera setup is expected to see an upgrade with a 200-megapixel primary sensor, alongside 12-megapixel and 10-megapixel cameras on the back. The front display houses a 10-megapixel selfie camera, while the inner display features a 4-megapixel under-display camera.
Given Samsung’s pattern of launching these devices about a week earlier each year, and considering the Galaxy S25 series’ launch was only slightly delayed this year, mid-July seems like a likely release date for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
