Samsung has pulled the One UI 7 update from its servers without explanation, but it’s clear that a security issue is at play. The problem lies with the Gallery app inside Secure Folder, which can auto-generate stories about its contents and make them accessible outside of Secure Folder through notifications.
If you’re running One UI 7 on your Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, or Z Fold 6, you may soon encounter this security issue. To fix it, simply open the Gallery app inside Secure Folder, tap the Menu button, access Settings, and disable Auto create stories. This feature is likely turned on by default.
Samsung’s decision to halt the One UI 7 update may be related to this security bug, but it’s unclear if it affects only devices that have received the OTA update or all One UI 7 devices. Samsung will need to address this issue to maintain the security of its users.
