Samsung has paused the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update due to a serious bug affecting some Galaxy S24 owners. The update was initially released on April 7th for select models, including Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, but Samsung has since halted it worldwide.
The issue was first reported by a tipster, who claimed that the bug prevented some users from unlocking their phones. Although the complaints originated from South Korean owners of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has taken a cautious approach and paused the rollout across all models globally.
As a result, the update is no longer listed on Samsung’s servers as the latest firmware version for several Galaxy devices, with older patches appearing instead. It is unclear whether Samsung will issue a fix for users who have already downloaded the One UI 7 update.
The pause follows a lengthy delay in the update’s release to older phones. The update was initially released seven months after Android 15 became available to developers and two months after the S25 series launched running the software.
